TUSB546A-DCI: Power consumption of TUSB546 at Snoop mode operation during DP host sleeping

Part Number: TUSB546A-DCI

Hi team,

My customer would like to know the snoop mode operation during DP host sleeping.

If DP host is at sleep and there is no DP signal whether TUSB546's snoop mode can read the information to turn off the high speed lane to decrease the power consumption.

If DP host wakes up, TUSB546 also can detect it to turn on the high speed lane.

Not sure whether it will be shown on AUX during the both situation happened.

  • HI,

The TUSB546A-DCI snoops native AUX writes to DisplayPort sink’s DPCD registers 0x00101 (LANE_COUNT_SET) and 0x00600 (SET_POWER_STATE).

TUSB546A-DCI disables/enables lanes based on value written to LANE_COUNT_SET. The TUSB546A-DCI disables all lanes when SET_POWER_STATE is in the D3 state. Please refer to the DP spec for the SET_POWER_STATE bits definition in the D3 state.

    Thanks
    David
