Hi,

I have a MIPI CSI-2 Camera that needs to connect to a processor that is around 50cm away from each other. This cable is within a home appliance and is not in any high noise envioyrment since it will be in a user's home.

Is there an rule of thumb or an approximate number for maxium length I can have with this cable?

I don't have any signal measurements as of now. But ,Would I need a mipi repeater for this application?

    Please refer to the MIPI-DPHY spec section 8.6, Interconnect Specification. If this 50cm cable is able to meet the Transmission Line-Interconnect-Structure (TLIS) requirement listed in section 8.6, then you don't need a MIPI retimer. If the cable is outside the requirement, then you would need a MIPI retimer such as the DPHY440.
