TCA9617A: Cross Reference Code

Part Number: TCA9617A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9617B

Hi team,

I searched NXP PCA9617A by TI cross reference search, and found cross reference code is P.

Why do we define cross reference code as P while they are is P2P I2C device?

What is the key barrier to replace PCA9617A?

Regards,

Itoh

  • Hey Itoh-san,

One of the differences is the TCA9617A is not powered off high impedance. If A side is larger than B side then the device will leak current into B side and back bias the device. B version fixes this and is what we recommend customers use instead of A version.

The other difference I know of is the Vcc rules for NXP's version and our version are a little bit different, where the NXP version does allow A side to be higher than B side and still meet electric specs. (This is true for the TCA9617B vs. NXP).
