Hi Team, 

My customer is considering the DS90UB953-Q1 and DS90UB954-Q1 for use in their application and they had a question regarding their camera resolution. 

The datasheet of the serializer and deserializer states that both devices support 2MP and 4MP cameras. However, my customer has an 8MP camera and would like to use the Full HD resolution setting (2MP) of this chipset. 

Is this feasible? 

- if not, can you suggest a suitable alternative?

    Hello Obinna,

    it is possible if the Frame Rate is low enough, or the number of bits per pixel is low enough. You need to calculate the required bandwidth as following:

    Hres x Vres x Blanking x FR. If the answer is less than 3.28Gbps then this should work.
