DP83826I: Compatible design with DP83826I & KSZ8081RNB

Dear team,

I'm trying to promote DP83826I as a pin to pin solution against KSZ8081RNB for our customer. I understand that these 2 solution are not BOM to BOM for strap resistor value difference.

I've done checking according to SNLA338, the only problem left is that PIN19 of KSZ8081 is floating on our customer's current design. Based on datasheet of 8081, "Pull-down (default) = PHY Address 0 is set as a broadcast PHY address".

Based on my understanding, PHY Broadcast Address is not supported for DP83826I. Does it mean that we only have chance for replacement if PHY Broadcast Address is disabled by software for 8081?

Hi Charles,

The DP83826I does not support the PHY broadcast address feature. Is the customer application using multiple KSZ8081 with PHY address 0 in PHY Broadcast Address mode enabled?

If they are not using the PHY address 0, it should not matter whether the feature is enabled.
