DS90UB935-Q1: 3MP 30fps camera x 4 connection

Part Number: DS90UB935-Q1

Hi Team

Would you advise is it available to connect 4x DS90UB935-Q1(3MP, 30fps, 24bit, blanking 10%

camera) to DS90UB960?

Video payload is calculated as 2.34Gbps at a 935 side.

This is lower than 2.528Gbps of CSI-2 BW.

However I found some document recommend to use DS90UB953 because

of bit transfer rate.

I'd like to know DS90UB935-Q1 availability for this use case.

Thanks

Best regards,

Shidara

  • Hello Shidara-san

The 2.528 Gbps bandwidth is spread across four data lanes, which equates to a bandwidth of 632 Mbps per lane. This limits the MIPI clock rate to 316 MHz. You can check your sensor output, and if the clock rate is greater than that, a 953 should be used. If lower, then the 935 can accommodate the signal.

Additionally, make sure to calculate bandwidth availability on the 960. The 960 can accommodate 1.6 Gbps per lane, so each sensor would require two lanes. There are two ports and four lanes per port, so your sensor data would have to be spread across two ports. See 960 datasheet section 7.4.20.1 for an example of how to calculate needed bandwidth for your case.

    Regards,
