DP83TC811S-Q1: Is there any way to detect CRC errors in normal operation?

Part Number: DP83TC811S-Q1

I see CRC bad counter but this only counts if the WOL is enable right?

also i see here a reply https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/t/799214?Linux-DP83TC811S-Q1-How-can-I-know-if-a-CRC-check-failed, can we use these RX_ER counter or False Carrier counter to detect CRC errors?

  • Hi Islam,

The DP83TC811S does not have a CRC error checker in normal operation. The CRC checker associated with WOL checks only the Magic Packet, if received.

RX_ER and False Carrier errors will be detected but cannot be repurposed to check for CRC errors.

    Regards,
    Justin
