PCA9306: Design question

Part Number: PCA9306

Hi,

Please check customer questions below. Thanks.

Questions for PCA9306DCTR are listed 1~3

  1. A and B side Vil_max.
  2. What’s 3.3V side  of PCA9306DCTR Vol max when 1.8V side input 0.6?
  3. Does it have re-drive ability or by pass?

  • Hello,

The device is a switch that conducts whenever the voltage on either side is lower than VREF1. As such, it does not buffer or receive signals and has no meaningful VIH/VIL specifications. When one side is low, the corresponding signals on the other side will be at a similar voltage - there will be a slight voltage rise through the device equal to the switch on state resistance multiplied by the application's pull-down current.

    Max

  • Please also note that the device schematic you may have is set up improperly (I can't see the full schematic or the net connections on pins of interest),  for level translation you need to short the EN pin to VREF2.
