DS90UB949A-Q1: Please advise whether there is any HDMI I/F serdes can support video spliting?

Part Number: DS90UB949A-Q1

In general, we would like to find a product that can support the following use cases.

1. The SoC will combine two (or more) video streams into one and output to the HDMI serdes chip.

2. HDMI serializer and deserializer will correctly sepereate the two different video streams and output to two different LVDS panels.

Thank you for your attention.

  • Hello Kevin,

If the two videos are completely symmetric meaning that they have the same video dimensions, timing, and frame rate, then this splitting architecture can be supported by 949 to two different deserializers like what is described in this guide where 947 is the focus device but 947 could be removed from the middle to support with just 949:

But if the video dimensions are different for the two output videos, then the system designer must implement a video splitting IC or FPGA solution to split or resize the video after it has been deserialized.

    Best Regards,

    Casey
