UA9638C-EP: Tj question

Hi Team,

My customer would like to know the Tj information and it only can be found in order information of datasheet like below. The value is quite strange, normally we think the max. Tj should be higher than TA but below table shows max. Tj is only can up to 85degC that same as TA.

So, I would like to confirm what is the max. Tj rating?

    Hi Vincent,

    The electrical characteristics tables are based on the TA range, which goes to 85 C.  At this temperature it is true that TJ will be slightly higher than TA, but the exact amount isn't characterized.  So, you could consider TJ of 85 C as a conservative estimate for the recommended maximum temperature.  The absolute maximum junction temperature can be derived from the dissipation ratings table to be about 105 C.
