SN75LVCP600: SN75LVCP600 & SN75LVCP601 problem.

Part Number: SN75LVCP600
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75LVCP601,

Hello.

We are currently using SN75LVCP600 SN75LVCP601 and we have a problem with speed during use.

I'm testing using Linux.

At first boot, the recognition was recognized as SATA3.0, but during read/write testing, it was recognized as SATA2.0 and only operates at the speed of SATA2.0

When recognized as SATA3.0, the speed of SATA3.0 normally comes out when the read test is conducted, but if the write test is carried out, the speed of SATA3.0 will be changed to SATA2.0

I tested it by changing the option value of the Re-driver, but it didn't work out, so I leave a message to solve the problem.

Currently, the settings for the Re-driver are set as follows:

SN75LVCP600 = EQ only is set to High, while the rest are open

SN75LVCP601 = EQ, DE, DEW All High

I have attached a block chart below.

  • Hi,

The total distances will likely have less loss.  I would try to set the EQ settings to "0" for 7dB of gain.  If this does not fix the issue we should acquire some waveforms to better understand the fall back to SATA2.

  • hi

I checked late. So I'm finally giving you a reply.
Are you saying that if the phenomenon is the same as before when the EQ value is set and checked, I-diagram should be checked?

  • Hi,

I was just commenting on the total distance in the SATA links.  The distances are not too long and have two equalizers in the path.  This could lead to over-equalization.  Over-equalization can lead to extra jitter and reduced operating data rate.  One good way to check is to look at the redriver output signals for signs of over-equalization and high jitter.
