LMH1297: carrier_detIO_loss_int

Guru 29720 points

Hi Team,

My customer found carrier_detIO_loss_int (0x54 bit0) is still "0" even when no signal input.
They set carrier_detIO_loss_int_en(0x56 bit0) =1 in this case.

Is it reasonable result for LMH1297?
If the answer is yes, what situation carrier_detIO_loss_int (0x54 bit0) goes to "1"?

Best Regards,
Yaita

  • Hi Yaita-San,

This is expected. Please note LMH1297 CDR/CTLE reg 0x54 bit definitions(please refer to the LMH1297 programming guide for more details):

Bit 0: When there is a transition to carrier loss this gets set. Meaning there should be carrier and then when it gets lost this bit gets set. In other words, when there is a transition from carrier present to no carrier this bit gets lost.

Bit 4: When there is a transition to carrier on SDI_IO is present this gets set. This mean when there is a transition from no carrier to carrier present this bit gets set.

    Regards,, Nasser
