Hi Team,
My customer said it seems SMPTE Data Rate Lock Enable (CTLE/CDR Register: 0xA0) function isn't enabled when EQ mode.
On the other hand, it is enabled when CD mode.
Is it reasonable result for LMH1297?
Best Regards,
Yaita

Hi Yaita-San,
Yes this is expected. In EQ mode, the equalizer state machine adapts to the incoming signal and there is no control to prevent it from adapting to certain data rate. On the other hand, in CD mode, CDR sees the signal first and once locked it can distinguish different data rates and use reg 0xA0 to discriminate one data rate versus another.
