DP83867CR: IEC 61000-4-2 ESD test failed

Hi team,

My customer used DP83867CR for a new design and found that communication would be interrupted during the IEC 61000-4-2 6KV ESD test. The engineer must reset the device through hardware or software to restore it. Could you share any experience to solve this problem? Thanks for your support!

Hi Sam,

Can you please include your schematic information? In our experiences, system schematic and layout is the primary cause of ESD, EMI/EMC issues for Ethernet PHYs.

I've included a TI reference design that has passed 6kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge that you can compare the schematic and layout to as well.
