Hi team

I am wondering if we have the solution about HDMI to LVDS and HDMI to USB3.0?

1. HDMI to LVDS

Requirements:

Input: 2 HDMI sources (choose one out of two)

Output: 1 channel LVDS output

I have found one possible solution through this link

2 HDMI sources ----> Mux -> RX -> TX ------> 1 LVDS output

Mux: HD3SS215(6Gbps) or TMDS261B (3Gbps)

RX: TFP401A

TX: SN65LVDS93A

However, I am not sure if this solution can meet the customer's requirements. What else detailed specs or requirements needed to be gathered from the customer?

2. HDMI to USB3.0

Requirements:

Output: support 1080P@60, if support windows platform without the requirement of the driver, that would be great.

I didn't found related devices but have found some products with such function through google. Do we have the solution convert HDMI to USB3.0?

Hi Shawn,

We don't have solutions for #2.

For #1, what resolution are they trying to support? What is the data rate / frequency of the pixel clock?

No audio signal and no more than 24 bits.

The customer wants a solution with fewer IC counts.

Hi Shawn,

Pixel clock of 74.25MHz is not possible to support a 1920x1080@60Hz resolution with only 1 LVDS output. This would require two LVDS output channels (8 LVDS data lanes and 2 LVDS clock lanes each with 74.25MHz frequency).

So for the customer's application, TI's solution is a three-chip solution: MUX->RX->TX, and the optimal devices are:

MUX: HDMI 2 to 1 MUX(I am still on finding)

RX: TFP401A

TX: DS90C387A

Is my understand right? Do we have solutions with less-count devices?

I am wondering if we currently have a solution for seamless HDMI signal switching?

The customer wants a solution to convert one of the 2 HDMI sources to LVDS output which connected directly to the screen, during the HDMI switching the customer needs a seamless transition and doesn’t want the screen to go black or flash.

Hi Shawn,

That's a system level spec that we don't really have control over. Even if there is very little switching delay on the switch itself, there will be some delay from the sources when they read the external EDID, which is not something we can quantify.
