TCAN1043-Q1: WAKE pin and RXD pin questions

Part Number: TCAN1043-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

Hi Team,

1. For the WAKE pin of TCAN1043, The datasheet shows that the state change time is longer than twake to take effect. If customer directly connect the WAKE pin to VSUP, could 1043 work normally and switch to standy mode, sleep mode?

2. Does the RXD need to be pull-up externally?

  • Amelie,

It is OK to tie WAKE to VSUP, but only if it doesn't need to be used to wake up the IC.  (The IC could still wake up via detection of CAN bus activity.)  This is because a "local wake-up" via the WAKE terminal requires a state change on the pin, and if the pin is tied to VSUP it could not be pulled low.

RXD does not need a pull-up; it uses a push-pull output architecture.

    Regards,
    Max
