ESD204: About compliance test for HDMI 2.1

Part Number: ESD204
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ESD122, TPD4E02B04

Hi,

I have read the following thread and asked questions.
https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/p/839636/3105682?tisearch=e2e-quicksearch&keymatch=hdmi2.1%20esd#3105682

>Our best device for HDMI2.1 would be ESD122 or TPD4E02B04
Do ESD122 and TPD4E02B04 pass the HDMI 2.1 compliance test?

Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke,

    Welcome to E2E!

None of our devices have been tested for HDMI 2.1, but the ESD122 and TPD4E02B04 are the best multi-channel devices we have to offer based on the signal speeds.

What we do have to offer is the s-parameter for each of the devices in their respective product folder that will enable you to do high speed simulations for HDMI 2.1 with your board design.

    Best regards,

  • Hello Andy,

    Thank you for your response.

    I understand.

I introduce S-parameter information to my customers.

Please let me ask additional questions.

Are ESD122 and TPD4E02B04 device with the ability and potential to pass the compliance test?

    Best regards,
    Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke,

Whether the ESD122 and TPD4E02B04 can pass the HDMI 2.1 compliance test will depend on the system. Each system will have an insertion loss budget which other factors such as board layout will affect the insertion loss of the design. The ESD devices will need to be verified in simulation or testing with the layout to know if it'll work.

    Best regards,
