TPS25750: Leakage current when powering from VIN3V3 or VBUS

Part Number: TPS25750

Hi team,

The TPS25750 can be powered from either VIN_3V3 or VBUS.
Could you tell how much leakage current is consumed in each conditions?

Regards,

Saito

  • Hello,

The power consumption of the TPS25750 is outlined in the following section of the datasheet. Let me know if you have any questions about any of these specific measurements

  • Hi Adam-san,

TPS25750 can work only VBUS supply without VIN_3V3.

Do you have any current consumption data when VBUS is ON and VIN_3V3 is OFF?

    Regards,

    Saito

  • Hello,

No we do not have this measurement, but would you be able to elaborate on why you or your customer needs this specific measurement?

When there is no power on VIN_3V3 and the TPS25750 is powered from VBUS, the current is being supplied by the charger at the other end of the Type-C cable which by the Type-C spec must be able to provide a minimum of 900mA.

Also, this state should only be temporary. The device is only powered by VBUS when VIN_3V3 is not available which is typically only in a dead battery condition. In such a condition, the TPS25750 is powered by VBUS, passes the voltage on VBUS to the rest of the system, which should then power up the system and supply the 3.3V to VIN_3V3

  • Hi Adam-san,

Thank you for your clear explanation. I understand VIN_3V3 = 0 is the dead battery and temporary condition.

I answered it customer. I will let you know once I get feedback from customer. If there is no question from customer, I will close this thread soon.

    Regards,

    Saito
