Hello Team,

can this connector from Wuerth be used: https://www.we-online.de/katalog/datasheet/7498111120AR.pdf ?

I am concerned regarding the 4 x 100nF which create a short between all 4 center pins.

If you refer to our troubleshooting guide for the DP83867 https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla246a/snla246a.pdf

the recommendation shows a 100nF capacitor for each center tap to gnd but they should be isolated and not shorted together at the center taps.

Hello Cecilia,

thanks for the recommendations, but the question is if this connector can be used with our PHY. I cannot imagine that Wuerth sells RJ45 connectors which are not possible to use :-)

May I kindly ask you why this connector cannot be used? What are the reasons for not using it?

The connector can be used however it can introduce compliance issues and it is not something we have completely validated.
