TPS25750: Alt Mode and Safety

Hi! 

I am looking for a PD controller, with over 15W, 0-70C, no video support. I have two system variations, one that is a single port system and one that is a  multiple port system (up to 8). 

I am looking for a possible sequence like this: 

  1. Board 1 detects Board 2 as SINK device (Board 2 has pull-down at CC), and Board 2 doesn’t provide power yet.
  2. Exchange messages thru PD (eg. VDM) to identify Board 2
    1. Would this need alt mode to accomplish? 
  3. Board 1 decides power role swap, then requests Board 2 to provides power
  4. Board 2 provides power. And keep following PD policy
  5. Board 2 keeps checking PD, and if no response (lose connection), then turns off power source.

Would the TPS25750D/S be able to accomplish this? 

Also, please let me know if there is any information on incorporating safety. Example, due to heat at type-c which is caused by dust or damage (short), need to reduce current or cut off power source

Also for USB PD3.0.
