DS125DF410: Support for SGMII Clause 37 autonegotiation and speed support for 10,100 M.

Part Number: DS125DF410

Hi ,

We have used this 10G retimer for 10G SFP+ connection. Can it support Clause 37 Autonegotiation and the applicable SGMII speeds (10/100/1G) ? Our DUT provides  AC coupled Differential SGMII lanes .

Just checking if we can enable the same port to work at the lower speeds to support backward compatibility ?

  • Hi,

The retimer can pass 10M/10M data when configured to its CDR bypass mode. The retimer may be configured to a mode where it automatically switches itself to CDR bypass mode when the CDR becomes unlocked. We recommend to use this retimer setting when implementing it in between two Ethernet link partners that need to auto-negotiate.

To configure retimer to switch to CDR bypass when unlocked

    • Set retimer channel register 0x1E[7:5]=b000
    • Keep channel register 0x09[5]=0, its default value

    Cordially,
