Hi Team,

May I ask the following questions:

1) Two PHYs are connected to the MAC at the same time. Can the MDC and MDIO of each chip be connected to the MAC in parallel? As shown below.

2) If it is connected in parallel, when MAC and PHY communicate, how to distinguish PHY1 or PHY2?

Hi,

1. Yes, your connections are correct.

2. Each PHY has to be configured with unique PHy Address. Same is used to communicate to individual PHY.

May I ask how to configure each PHY address, is it through software or hardware (peripheral circuit)?

Hi Amelie,

Phy address can be configured through strap resistors on pin rx_dv and rx_er pins. Do refer to these tables of datasheet for required implementation : "Recommended 4-level strap resistor ratios", "4-level bootstraps" and "phy address bootstraps"
