TCAN4550EVM: connecting CC3235 with TCAN4550

Part Number: TCAN4550EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-CC3235S, TCAN4550, TCAN4550-Q1

Hello,

Customer is connecting the TCAN4550EVM with the LAUNCHXL-CC3235S,

As I understand 2 is a questions for the WIFI team, I will open a new post.

he has the following questions:

1.The SPI protocol reference code of the CC3235 ask for ready signal, I not sure if it is exist on the TCAN4550.

2. The SPI reference code are not transmit the data to the other side with WiFi, how should I do it?

3. I connected CANbus generator and sniffer to the TCAN4550, but there is no transaction, not on the SPI and not on the CANbus port.

Thanks.

  • Victor,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, can you let me know for what application this is being evaluated?

    1. If you mean something like RTS and CTS for serial communications, there's none for the TCAN4550-Q1. nCS would be the closest to a ready signal for SPI communication to occur. Does he CC3235 absolutely need a ready signal to communicate through SPI at all?

    3. Has the customer looked into the TCAN4550-Q1 Software User's Guide? This has step-by-step instructions on how to configure the device for starting CAN communication. If there is still confusion, please let me know a few more details about the setup and configuration and we can begin debug.

    Regards,
