Dear TI Team,
my customer would like to use DP83826I in his design.
According to the datasheet on the CEXT pin a 2nF CAP to GND should be attached.
In the EVM schematic we show a 1nF CAP populated.
Can you please clarify what CEXT pin and the CAP attached is used for in DP83826 device.
Please clarify which CAP value is the right one to be populated.
Thanks and best regards,
Joe
If possible it would be best to have a range for the value for the capacitor of the CEXT to be able to select one out of the otherwise used values.
Hi Joe,
The correct CEXT value is listed on the datasheet. Please use a 2nF capacitor on this pin.
Regards,
Justin
Hi Justin,
thanks for the quick response!
Can you please also comment on the other questions?

Hi Justin,
I ask, because at the Eval-Board a 1nF is used. Also the value 2n is not so common then 2n2.
Thank you for you help in advance!
Hermann
Hi Hermann,
What I see on the DP83826 EVM on TI.com, it looks like there is a 0.1uF capacitor on CEXT. I've confirmed that this is outdated and noted the schematic should be updated to 2nF. Can you help point me to where you see a 1nF capacitor?
A 2.2nF capacitor on CEXT is acceptable.
Regards,
Justin
Hi Justin,
thank you for the information with 2n2 and that Eval schematics are outdated!
1n was a typo, of course the value I mean was 0.1u

Hermann
