SN65DSI84: PLL_UNLOCK error

Hi,

could you help below questions about PLL_UNLOCK error and 0xE5 registers

1. when detect the PLL_UNLOCK error, customer reset SN65DSI84 by hardware, then Enable again, find the PLL_UNLOCK errro still remain. I search on E2E see that the PLL_UNLOCK error will remain even if PLL lock, and need to clean manually, right?

2. If the PLL_UNLOCK error need manual clean, how to make sure the PLL is lock properly?

3. about the error of 0xE5 register list, customer want to know if there are any self-recover ways to clean these error?

Hi Betty,

They can clear the error register by writing 0xFF to register 0xE5. If they continue seeing PLL_UNLOCK even when the output display looks okay, then there is probably excessive jitter on the clock source (PLL_UNLOCK is oversensitive).They can try using a clean external clock source instead of the DSI clock to source the PLL in this case.

display is okay when the PLL_UNLOCK is 1. and ,customer feedback that mostly the PLL_UNLOCK occur at power up, after about few minutes, PLL_UNLOCK error disappear.

Hi Betty,

Sorry for the delay - PLL_UNLOCK and some other errors may be erroneously set during power up. Therefore 0xE5 should be cleared by writing 0xFF to it before reading it.
