Hi team,

My customer considers to use TUSB320 and provided some questions.

He understands that TUSB320 doesn't support VCONN voltage supply.
But what if active cable/E-marked cable which needs VCONN is connected?
Is there anything should be cared in case that VCONN is not supplied?

Hi Brian,

Sorry for lack of explanation.

The customer doesn't use VCONN function at their product so they consider to use TUSB320. Though end product doesn't need VCONN support, they just would like to make sure what if E-marked cable is connected by end user's mistake.

Does anything problem happen for TUSB320 if cable which needs VCONN is connected?
What happens when the device doesn't supply VCONN?

I found similar thread, but there is no description about what will happen if VCONN is not supplied.

TUSB320 and cable should work fine, but anything >15w need PD controller
