DS90UB954-Q1: Can UB954 support 2 sensors with different clock?

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hello.

We are considering the below system.

As you can see the picture, sensorA is different frame size and clock with sensorB.

1. Can UB954 support it?

2. Can port0 stream the data from sensorA and port1 stream the data from SensorB?

I will expect your answer.

Thanks.

Br

Sun.

  • Hello Sun,

    1) yes, the 954 do support 2 different sensors with different frame count.

    2) No. The second output can only be used for replication. So, you will be getting the streams from both sensors into one output port. Each stream will be assigned with a specific virtual channel ID then they can be easly seperated in the SoC.

  • Hello Hamzeh,

Thank you for your quick reply.

    We will use UB953 serialzer.

I want to ask questions to clarify more.

    1. SensorA and SensorB has a different CSI-2 clock. Does UB954 support it?

If yes, is there any need to have a specific setting in UB953?

    2. If sensorA is CSI-2 4lane and sensorB is CIS-2 2lane, can UB954 support it?

    Thanks.

    Br.

  • Hello Sun,

The answer to both questions is yes, and there is no configuration needed on the 954 to support it. For question 1, there is no configuration needed on 953 to support different speed either - only different number of lanes must be configured on the 953

    Best Regards,

  • Hello Casey,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I resolve this issue.

    Thanks.
