Hi Team,

I would like to double check my understanding of UH and UB device pairing.(don't need to use HDCP v1.4 specification) As I know, if I use

1. UB947 device as serializer and UH948 device as deserializer

2. UH947 device as serializer and UB948 device as deserializer

Ther SerDes could be used directly without any hardware modification and register modification as long as you do not exercise any of the HDCP features in the UH device.

Is it right?

Hello Roy,

yes, you can use these type of devices paired together without any limitation. You only need to be sure that all HDCP features are disbaled (i.e. not enabled via registers), such as Authentication or encryption.

As I know, all of the HDCP register default is disabled, is it right?

If we would like to enable HDCP feature, I could only write related HDCP register in UH947-Q1, is it right?

Hello Roy,

you are correct. These are disabled by default.

You can find the difference between the two devices in the datasheets.
