Hi there , I am working on TPS65988 based power bank setup i have studied all the designs . The reference design for TPS65988  for this application is TIDA-01515 . Unfortunately i cant get anything related to the reference design on your website . Is the design had faults in it? Kindly help me as i have committed to client for the design implementation and now i am stuck with no help .

    Hello, 

    TIDA-01515 is a paper design and we never validated the same. The next revision of this reference design is ongoing and will publish online once its ready.

    What's the expected date for the revised design if its possibly within next few days i can wait .

    Secondly all the refrence designs for the TPS65988 are GUI firmware based , Is it possible to design the Dual Role system without using the GUI and I2C . My client just want to use only electronics hardware not any kind of software . If you share some details related to it . It would help me a gread deal

    Hello,

    Design release will take more time. 

    TPS65988 requires GUI configuration and FW patch for power bank application. TIDA-01515 limitations such as it cannot accept Power role swap, you will have to consider adding an MCU to overcome such limitations. It would be good if you can share the product spec so that i can provide you more accurate response.

    I have to design a power bank which can provide 100W sink/source at a single Type C port and 5V 2A charging at a simple USB A port . Other specs like LED , Button operation are identical to the TIDA-01515. I also want to use similar battery gauge but the limitation is that there shouldn't be any software Development in whole system . If you can suggest me any specific IC from your side or any refrence design which can help me build the system .

    Hi , I need to know if I can get pre configured TPS65988 to work similar to the TIDA-01515 . So I don't have to get in hastle of configuring each unit by myself . Would love to hear from you ASAP

    Hello Yousaf, 

    As discussed, we cannot provide the Silicon w/ custom configuration. SPI flash is a must for the PD controller to hold device configuration and FW patch.
