DS90UB954-Q1: Crystal oscillator selection

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

We use TI DS90UB954+953 for an extended camera solution.

We would like to use synchronous mode for the design. So we will connect a crystal on 954.

From the specification of 954, typically REFCLK connected to 23- to 26-MHz reference oscillator.

Is this means the image sensor on the 953 side should be 23 to 26MHz?

Now we use Sony IMX307 + 953. The reference clock of IMX307 must to be 37.125MHz.

Not sure if the 954+953 can support IMX307 or not?

NOT, the REFCLK spec. in 954 d/s is for 954's operation freq., it doesn't matter with the 37.125MHz in your case if you don't use 953's clk_out to drive this sensor.

Hi Steven,

I use 953 to drive the image sensor, because I use synchronous mode.

Refer to the SNLA267A, section 4.2 CLKOUT.

I shoud set the M, HS_CLK_DIV, and N parameters to get CLKOUT = 37.125MHz, right?

yes, you can set the 953 clock out as 25 *3/2 ＝ 37.125M.

No.

FC is not 25. FC is forward channel data rate which is 4G.

To get the frequency close to 37.125M.

The parameter can be

HS_CLK_DIV = 16

M = 25

N = 168

Then we can get CLK_OUT = 37.20238MHz
