TUSB9261: Program SPI flash by using external programmer

I've tried to program the 1.06 firmware bin file by using SPI flash programmer like www.dediprog.com/product/SF100 or www.sofi-tech.com/English/Product/2837405012.html

After that, I reworked the Flash part back to the PCB board then powered on, Linux always show below message when performing lsusb command

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0451:926b Texas Instruments, Inc. TUSB9260 Boot Loader
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0451:926b Texas Instruments, Inc. TUSB9260 Boot Loader

It looks like the FW can not be loaded correctly through this method. Do TUSB9261's FW have to be programmed on-line by TI's burner tool?

If so, I have concern about this ,because the Flash part is usually pre-programmed then SMD to the PCB in mass production for saving the working hours.

Hi Norman,

The Flashburner tool should be used to get the complete SPI flash image before using a external SPI master. flash burner adds USB descriptor info to the 1.06 FW file to create a complete FW image. There is a Linux flashburner tool you can try as well but the tool is provided as-is and has very limited support. Please accept my friend request so that I can send you the software through E2E DM. Please post on your original thread once you have done so.
