DS90UB964-Q1: packet buffer error

Hi team,

My customer now use 933+964. 
An error occurred once in three days of long-term testing and found that 0X4E has a packet buffer error.

At the same time, the four channels camera 0x4F, 0x50, the receiving frequency has a change from 0x2FFF to 0x3000.

Customer use frame synchronization. Is the packet buffer error related to synchronization method or clk clock source?

    Hello Amelie, 

    If there is a packet buffer error, then you may have too much incoming bandwidth which is causing an overflow condition. It can be related to the synchronization method because some methods have more overhead than others.

    Hi Sally,

    Customer has used 933+964 for a long time. There is no issue before. And the issue (packet buffer error) occurred when doing the long time test (three days).

    And customer use 1280*720, 25 frame, YUV 10 bit, we have calculate the band width. It is enough. 

    Customer said that the frequency from camera is 0x2FFF and 0x30000. Customer is worried that whether it is because the clk frequency has different?

    Are they seeing any other errors? Any parity errors/CRC errors?

    And also what about the order of configuration?ISP→913→964? or 964→913→ISP？

    If the 964 is configured first but the camera data is not stable yet, will it cause the 964 to report some additional abnormalities?

    Usually, the 964 will be powered first and then the rest follow because they are powered from the PoC network. 

    It is normal to see some errors at the very beginning of starting the system, during the initialization, due to not yet stable image or LOCK … etc. You can clear the errors after the system is stable and then check. 

    Based on your register, it looks like you have 2x933's to 964. Camera 0 is output to 964 port 0 output and camera 1 is output to 964 port 1. You are using frame sync, but you are enabling best effort forwarding and you have CSI-2 replicate mode one. These seem conflincting.
