DS90UB914A-Q1: flickering screen issue--933&914A

Part Number: DS90UB914A-Q1

Dear team,

My customer encounters a flickering screen issue recently. After disabling the back channel, the fault disappears. The registers's difference is as below. 0x1a and 0x1c register indicates that there is parity errors detected, so my customer wants to know what the parity error detection mechanism is. What factors will result in parity error?

In addition, 914's output connects our SOC, so SOC team also helps check this issue. Below is their question description. The pixels that VPDMA captured comes form 914's output.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hi Sherry,

Parity error means errors in the forward channel. If turning off the back channel helps resolves the flickering, this could mean the PoC network isn't correct, or if there's too much PoC noise on the link. I would suggest turning off PoC as a debug step.
