TUSB212: Should TUSB212 be placed at host or device side

Hi Team,

May I know if TUSB212 is recommended to be placed at host or device side? The total length is 1 meter, but there are two connectors in the D+/D- trace.

HI Hao,

Host side is the most common implementation, close to the USB connector. Can you provide a block diagram?

i have no picture,but i have the block, i have 3 PCBA, named as A \B \C,

A is hub

B is connector

C is device

A and B through 5cm

B and C through 1M

Hi,

Since USB Hub is so close to the connector you may not need redriver to drive 1m cable. Have you done eye diagram test to confirm (measure after 1m cable)? If you care using TUSB212EVM you can place right after B with a short cable.

can you say more?

i say the B is one PCBA ,one side connect A,another connect C, A,B,C just what i say

i done eye diagram at the C, eye diagram is bad

what shall i do? if use TUSB212, Where be placed?

Hi,

It would be best to provide a simple picture here and the eye diagram measured. In general TUSB212 should be placed close to the USB connector in question.
