Hi,

For board design we may need to know the capability of SN65DSI86 DP output. How much loss from chip out does the Displayport signal cover? or how long could user route the Displayport differential signal in application?

Hi,

The DSI86 implements both SWING and Pre-emphasis level to compensate for the loss of source trace, the eDP cable, the connector, and the sink trace. The max pre-emphasis that can be supported by DSI86 is 7.2dB, you can use this to estimate the eDP cable length requirement.
