DS90UB954-Q1: DS90UB954-Q1 / DS90UB913A in RAW12 mode not receiving frames correctly

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi

Our setup is Sensor -> 913A -> 954 -> i.MX6.

The sensor output is 12-bit parallel and the 913A/954 is configured in RAW12 mode.

The frame size is 1280x720 45fps. Pixel clock is 60MHz

The 954 is reporting a frame size of 2406 x 723.

I have scoped the input to the 913A and it matches the sensor configuration. What could be causing the frame size to be incorrect in the 954?

Thanks.

  • Hello Martin,

    did you chose the correct settings in the 954? Can you provide a register dump?

  • Hello Martin,

    I have reviewed the provided register dumps. You have large number and different kind of errors in both directions, BC and FC.

    It looks like you have something wrong on the link, between the SER and the DES. May be the PCB or PoC Filter or Cable/Connector...etc

    On the 954:
    0x4D = 0x07 -- Parity Errors detected. See reg 0x55 & 0x56 both = 0xFF.
    0x4E = 0x24 -- FPD3 Encoder Errors detected.
    0x7B = 0xFF -- CSI packets Errors

    ------------------
    on the 913A:
    0x0A and 0x0B = 0xFF -- Very large number of CRC errors

  • Thanks, Hamzeh

    The cable should be OK as I have a 914A EVM and that doesn't show errors with the same cable/camera.

    The PoC filter might be an issue.

    This was originally designed to supply 12V to a 953 SER.

    I have change R11/12 to 4k and also tried 1k. Is there anything here that you see we should change? There are a few differences on the 914A kit but I'm not sure what is significant. Should L5 be 4.7uH? Should L8/L9 total 1k?

    Thanks

    Martin
