TUSB8044A: Schematic review

Part Number: TUSB8044A

Hi  Team

Please review  the  attached  schematic  and  let  me know  your  feedback

I have  one query what willancs_sgat_501-1-01380_a0-21.pdf happen if  by  mistake  we have  more  than one  capacitor  on USB superspeed  trace.

  • Hi Abhishek,

    • I would not recommend installing the pulldown on PWRCTL/BATEN1, just leave it unconnected if not used.
    • Unused ports should be left unconnected as well.
    • There is an internal pullup resistor on GRSTz so if they are installing an external pullup resistor, I would expect an active reset to be driven to the hub to ensure a long enough reset pulse.
    • Is the customer using the billboard function of the TUSB8044A permanently enabled?
    • I'm not seeing bulk capacitance on the DFP ports.  I would expect to see at least 10 uF or up to 150 uF to handle in rush currents.
    • Series AC capacitors on the SS lines will still meet the USB 3.x specification.  Typically we recommend 100 nF on the TX lines and 330 nF (optional) on the RX lines.
    • We do not recommend holding the hub in reset when it is not used.
    • USB_VBUS is a detection input and should only be high when an active host is connected.

  • Hi JMMN

    Thanks  for  reply

    Costumer don't need   billboard  functionality

  • Have the customer use the TSUB8043A if they don't need the billboard function.  Differences between the hub parts described here:
