PCA9306: Vref1 and Vref2 requirement

Hello team,

In my understanding, Vref2 must be larger than Vref1 in PCA9306 as the datasheet description below.

On the other hand, I found that "it is fine to use with the same voltage for side 1 and side 2" on the thread below.
I'm confused which is correct. Is there any specific method to use PCA9306 between the same voltage rail? (e.g. Vref1=Vref2=3.3V)

Hi Shinya,

PCA9306 can be used as a single channel switch (in which can you could have Vref1=Vref2) or it can be configured as a level shifter (in which case you would want Vref2>Vref1 by 0.6V).

Thanks Bobby,

Allow me to confirm one more thing.
PCA9306 doesn't have capacitive load isolation feature, so we should recommend TCAxx which can be used as a repeater for buffering use case.
Is it correct?
