PCA9546A: some logic device questions and requirement(PCA9546A ,PCA9545A, PCA9575,PCA9685)

Part Number:

Hi team,

My customer will use the intel SOC with the requirement below.

1.PCA9546A can be used as I2C expender 1input to 4 output, but we have PCA9545A in the customer's device library. So what's the difference between pca9546a and pca9545a? Whether we can use the two devices to replace each other?

2. Whether we can use PCA9575 as GPIO expender with I2C(16 CHs GPIO)

3. Whether we can use PCA9685 as the LED driver? why i cannot find the PCA9685 on ti.com. Do we have other recommendations?

Thanks.

    Hi team,

PCA9545A has an INT feature and 2 configurable address pins, PCA9546A has 3 configurable address pins. I would recommend getting our TCA devices qualified and suggesting either TCA9545A or TCA9546A instead.

    2. Whether we can use PCA9575 as GPIO expender with I2C(16 CHs GPIO)

TI does not have a PCA9575.

    3. Whether we can use PCA9685 as the LED driver? why i cannot find the PCA9685 on ti.com. Do we have other recommendations?

TI does not have a PCA9685. For suggestions I can re-assign this thread to another product line as I don't support the LED devices aside from 6507.

    Thanks.

  • HI Bobby,

Thanks for your reply. Do we have solutions to replace PCA9575 & PCA9685?

  • Hi Frank,

We have LP3943/4 (16/8 channels) can be used both as LED driver and GPIO expansion.

If you are only looking for multi-channel LED driver, you could have a look of LP50 family.
