Hello team,

my customer is using DP83869HM in their design and has the following questions in regards to the 2 supply modes. 

  • Are there any advantages/disadvantages using 2-supply mode vs 3-supply mode?

    Hello Errol,

    There is no difference in the functionality or the performance of the PHY between 2-supply and 3-supply mode.

    3 supply mode helps in reducing the power consumption (wattage) if customer has a higher supply to 1.8V DC-DC converter on board.
