DS90UB927QEVM: NSC USB NANO Showing up in other devices

Part Number: DS90UB927QEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP

ALP tool is always running in demo mode.  Using current version of TI ALP tool 1.57.0010.  In device manager nsc usb nano shows up in other devices.  Followed steps in ALP help - driver installation and the cypress driver was unable to be installed.  The drivers were in the folder, but was unable to install.

  • Hello Bruce,

There's a detailed ALP help document to step through the driver installation in the following ALP install folder

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\Analog LaunchPAD v1.57.0010\ALP_Documents\ALP-92x-Driver-Install

Could you please check with that and let me know? If you still face issue, please include a screen shot of your problem. Helps in understanding your issue better.

    Thanks,

    Vishy

  • Hi Vishy,

I had my TI local support come help me. The steps provided work on his computer but not mine. At the start, neither of us could successfully connect to the EVM. When I complete the steps in the installation guide the warning symbol comes up but the device still shows up as NSC NANO USB in "Other Devices". However, for my TI support it does solve the issue and he can now connect.

    Picture descriptions:

    1) ALP up to date 1.57.0010

    2) NSC USB NANO showing up in Other Devices (notice warning triangle symbol)

    3) Show computer is x64 based

    4) showing file location and choice of x64 cypress inf for windows 10

    5) selecting "Cypress EZ - USB FX1 No EEPROM Device"

    6) Driver Updated Successfully

    7) Device still shows up in "Other Devices" (notice no warning triangle symbol)

  • Bruce,

Please check you have admin right for your PC. I think you are going through the steps correct but because of permissions, the driver is not taking effect.

    Thanks,

    Vishy

  • I appreciate the help and the issue has been resolved.  Have a great day.
