I talked to TI support and they confirmed that pinouts dont match and that ref design is outdated...but because of short staff they couldnt help my any further. I had asked them below questions. If anybody from TI team can help answer these, that would be great.
1. can you provide updated ref design to match the datasheet pinout?
2. who is the TI support person for san jose area? can you get me in touch with him/her? in case I want to get my sch reviewed ?
3. Where can we buy the eval board? TI website has this option greyed out. Digikey etc does not carry this?
4. can we pre-program the FLASH from TI factory for this PD controller? is there such an option? if yes, is there any cost associated with it?
5. if PD is working in SINK mode, then does it require 5V and 3.3V. I think answer is yes. so how does these supplies get generated from PPHV. PPHV comes first or 5V/3.3V comes up first.....PPHV cannot come up first if 5V/3.3V are not up...and 5V and 3.3V cannot come up first if PPHV is not up...so not sure how this works in SINK mode. need to understand this power supply sequence.
