Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, TXS0101
I would like to run simulation. How can I get SCL and SDA driver and receiver models?

Kyle,
Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, not every part we sell has IBIS or PSpice models available. If a particular model is available for a part, it would be found in the product folder on ti.com, under “Design & development.”
As you noted, there are not any models offered for the TCA9406. Regarding your simulation, how are you planning to use the TCA9406?
Best,
Danny
Hi Danny,
Yes, I could not find any model under Home -> Interface -> I2C ICs -> I2C level shifters, buffers & hubs -> TCA9406 -> Design & development, so I was wondering can I get IBIS model through requesting. Can a model of this IC be found in your TINA-TI or I2C designer tool? I don't know how are our team planning to use the IC, but I need to run simulation to confirm how much capacitance we can add to ensure the rise time of signal still meet the spec. Is this something you can help with?
Regards,
Kyle
You can use the TXS0101 IBIS model.
Please note that the TCA9406 is a passive switch and has no SDA/SCL drivers or receivers. All you get is the behaviour of the clamping diodes. (The edge accelerators are not modelled.)
OK, I see, TCA9406 does not re-drive the signal with new voltage level, so it doesn't have any driver or receiver model. However, because it can do voltage shifter, it is not a completely passive switch. If it is a passive switch, there should be S-parameter model. So, if I have a real source driver, can the edge accelerators or the TCA9406 be modeled in the middle of channel? or there is no way to model the edge accelerators?
