Compiler/DP83640T-EVK: Analog Launchpad Driver for DP83640T-EVK

Part Number: DP83640T-EVK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-2-MDIO,

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

I am an electrical engineering major. My team and I are trying to use this to implement the 1588 PTP for our capstone project. Can I develop on this board? Analog Launchpad does not  recognize the board. It says we don't have the correct driver and I can't seem to find the correct one.

  • Hi Forrest,

    Thanks for your interest in our product! The Analog Launchpad software for this device requires Windows XP to operate. If you have access to the MDIO/MDC pins of the board, you may use the new softare, USB2MDIO tool found here: .

    Additionally, you may review this thread for more information.

    Thank you,

    Nikhil

  • Hi Nikhil,

    Are you saying that we can use this tool if we don't have access to a windows xp machine? In the USB-2-MDIO user guide there is a guide on how to configure the pins with jumper wires for another board but not ours. Is there a procedure for the DP83640T-EVK?

  • Hi Forrest,

    You will need to create a windows XP emulator or virtual machine to use analog launchpad. The older software is not compatible with newer windows operating services. USB-2-MDIO is actually only used for reading/writing registers and is not a tool that will create timestamps for data communication.

    Thank you,

    Nikhil
