TPD3S716-Q1: weak short Radj resistor

Hi team,

Radj resistor for the current limit of TPD3S716-Q1 is specified from 57.6kohm or larger.

It is also specified that the current limit value at Iadj directly tied to GND is 700mA typical.

Could you advise how much is the current limit value in between Radj = 0 ohm to 57.6kohm?

I concerns if condensation on the chip resistor make the resistance small and would like to know what happens if Radj = 0 to 57.6kohm.

Hi Shinji,

Sorry, there is no specific data from 0ohm to 57.6kohm. Because there is no specific equation to calculate the relationship between RADJ and ILIM in 0-57.6k. Please follow section 8.3.7 to select RADJ.

The purpose of the question is that I would like to do risk assessment of weak resistor condition such as condensation.

Because the current limit value increase as lowering the resistor, but eventually it will be 700mA set limit when it shorted to GND.

Hi Shinji-san,

I checked with designer team, there is no detail data for 0-50k. But it is certain that when RADJ is 0-50k, ILIM is 2.4A-700mA.
