TPD5S116: I/O Capacitance

Part Number: TPD5S116

Hi,

Good day. I hope you are doing fine.

Our customer is using the TPD5S116 and they want to confirm if the I/O capacitance of the SDL/SDA pins is still 17pF even the device is powered off. As they noticed this value is when the device is on thus they need confirmation on this matter.

I would appreciate your help on this. Thank you.

Regards,

Cedrick

  • Cedrick,

We will check it  and feedback to you soon.

Do you know why customer cares about the capacitance even the device is power off?

  • Hi Abull,

    Thank you for your support.

I've checked with our customer and here's what they've said:

"We have been asked by our customer with regards to HDMI compliance. They're not sure whether compliance is only when their device is powered, or is there a different set of rules when the device is not powered. To be honest, they have not been in this situation before (obtaining HDMI compliance) and they just wanted to be sure that they had all of the relevant details before they start spending their money getting their product tested.
    Hope that makes some sense."

We appreciate your help on this matter and we hope to get the needed details for this. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Cedrick

  • Hi Abull,

    I hope everything is fine.

I would like to know if there's an update for this request? I appreciate your help on this. Thanks.

    Regards,

  • Cedrick,

We don't have the sample and EVM in hand to test on bench.

I'm checking with design team to do some simulation and comparing with the Power-On capacitance.

Hope we can have feedback next week since team were on vacation

  • Cedrick,

We confirmed the I/O capacitance of the SDL/SDA pins is almost same no matter power on or off

    Thanks

    Abull
