DS90UB953A-Q1: Interfacing with Sony Image sensor

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer are trying to use DS90UB953A-Q1 serializer with Sony IMX490 image sensor. The MIPI interface voltage in the image sensor is 1.1V and in serializer the supply voltage is 1.8V. Other signals (GPIO and I2C) is 1.8V.

So they want to confirm is they can interface DS90UB953A-Q1 with Sony image sensor IMX490 or not(MIPI interface)?

Hello Sally,

Yes the IMX490 is a CSI-2 output.

In addition to the previous query, customer would like to add another query regarding the MIPI interface from FPGA
with DS90UB953A-Q1.

MIPI interface has a bank voltage of 1.2V from FPGA board and DS90UB953A-Q1 has a supply voltage of 1.8V.
So can they interface the serializer with FPGA?

HI Art,

The FPGA CSI-2 output should follow the CSI-2 MIPI standard, so 1.2 LP voltage is fine to interface with. Yes our 953 can interface with the IMX490.
