SN65DPHY440SS: Feasibility of use for a distance of 1m

Hi,

We are looking into the possibility of using SNx5DPHY440SS MIPI re-timer chip near the sink (APU). The following diagram shows the top level architecture & the two boards are planned to be interconnected by a cable of length ~1m. We are still undecided on the type of cable (HDMI, IPEX etc).

As datasheet application example deals with a trace length of only 12inch (~30cm) at the input side, We would like to know if SNx5DPHY440SS chip is suitable for this requirement.

Could you please provide us inputs on this?

    Do you know what is the total loss (including the 1m cable) from the camera to the DPHY440? 

    The DPHY440 RX equalizer can compensate 4dB loss at 1G data rate or 5dB loss at 1.5GHz. You can use this as a guideline and make sure the total loss does not exceed the RX equalizer compensation range.
