My customer is working with our PHY device, DP83848I. They reported a packets lost issue. Basically the ethernet works well in most of time, while in some time, especially when the system just started up, their system reported some data packets were lost. I asked engineer read the PHY Status Register (PHYSTS), register 0x10h of DP83848, they found the bit11 (FALSE CARRIER SENSE) and bit13 (RECEIVE ERROR) are always reading '0'. If this means there is no problem with the physical layer of ethernet? What is the possible cause of the issue?
