TUSB4020BI: TUSB4020BI power consumption high

Hello,

My customer is using TUSB4020BI. But they are reporting the power consumption of 1.1V is high with input current exceeding 300mA.

This device is working in active mode. According to datasheet, its input current should be within 80mA.

Could you suggest the possible cause leading to such high power consumption?

Hi Paul.

Please ensure that there is ample solder on the thermal pad. We should also check the power up sequence of TUSB4020BI and ensure it follows section 7.7 Power-Up Timing Requirements of the datasheet.

Hi Paul,

What is the system setup during the power consumption test? Are you using SMBUS mode?

Where are you measuring the consumption? Can you share a schematic?
